Korea (July 2021 - August 2021)
Before beginning my senior year, I wanted to get a chance to take a short break in Korea to think about what I really want to do in terms of college applications. With college applications being such a significant decision in my life I have to make, I wanted to make sure I was in a rested and in a clear mindset.
Hence, this whole trip was actually filled with me visiting tourist places and amusement parks (Lotte World) instead of educational centers that I visited in my previous year's visit. |
Lexington, Kentucky (June 2021)
As part of the 2021 Henry Clay High School Congress, I visited Kentucky for a week, residing at the University of Kentucky. Throughout the week, I got to study public policy (more on this on the experience page) while taking a look at Lexington's history and culture.
Unfortunately I didn't get to eat fried chicken there (Surprisingly even the locals like big franchises like Cane's and Chick-fil-a) but the food there was amazing, especially the tacos (and I'm from California). |
Korea (April 2020 - August 2020)
While I've been to Korea on multiple occasions, this experience was different - it was filled with learning and education.
Watching the Black Lives Matter movement play out from over 5,000 miles away, I connected dots from the civil rights issues that minorities go through in Korea just like the ones that African-Americans in America face. Additionally, visiting key tourists locations and traditional homes, I learned about the mechanisms that run Korea and with knowledge I've acquired since my middle school days, I analyzed and researched further into Korea's embedded systems. |
New York, New York (June 2019)
Finally a trip to the Big Apple!
After doing my 5th grade states project on the state of New York, I've been begging my parents to take me to New York City to see the famous streets, buildings, and stores. After 4+ years of constantly asking them, we finally got a trip to the state this summer! Visiting the Empire State Building, Times Square, and the Statue of Liberty made me feel the history of our nation. But to be honest, I think New York is better through pictures. The streets had too many rats! ;-; |
